SYDNEY, October 27 2008 — Websense, Inc. (NASDAQ: WBSN) today announced the launch of an Australia and New Zealand channel and customer certification program aimed at providing local partners and end users with a solid foundation in Websense security technologies and increasing proficiency in product installation, configuration and operation.

At the same time, the company has appointed Avnet Technology Solutions as a Websense Authorised Training Partner in Australia and New Zealand to assist in delivering and managing the training program. Avnet was appointed a Websense distributor earlier in the year and this latest agreement shows Avnet’s commitment to be a value added distributor for Websense.

Gavin Lawless, General Manager, Avnet Technology Solutions Australia, said, “Websense are very proactive when it comes to ensuring that the channel is skilled up in their product. We are looking forward to extending our training capabilities to the Websense team and business partners.”

Participation and certification in the courses form part of the award winning Websense ChannelConnect Global Partner Program. This program aims to provide channel partners with a simple and flexible means to drive growth and profitability in the security market.

Initially, Websense will roll out two certification courses, one in web security and another in messaging security. The two-day courses will be delivered by a certified Avnet trainer and will guide participants through installation, configuration, administration and support of the Websense solutions.

The certification process will compliment the Websense Partner Portal (http://www. channel.websense.com) which enables organisations to increase their skills and overall knowledge in the Websense product set via access to a variety of online partner-ready resources. With the click of a mouse, partners can access comprehensive product information, competitive product guides, online deal registration, product renewal management, training and certification exams, and other resources.

”Websense is committed to building a strong reseller channel and an end user customer base that can harness the entire rich functionality of the Websense product for their own business benefit. As a result, training and certification are a critical component for ensuring our own ongoing momentum in Australia and New Zealand and Avnet is a natural partner, with its strong skills set and experience, to deliver on the ground support. We know we’ll be able to count on their team to deliver best practice training and certification methodology,” said Daniel Crnkovich, Alliance Partner Manager, Websense.

Websense will roll out the web and messaging security certification training in November and will then add more dates and locations for the remainder of the year and next year. For further information, visit www.websense.com/anz_channel_training
