Vodafone has launched a new business channel to target SMBs amidst the financial turmoil.
Director, Bruce Goldsmith, said the program - called Bizfone - was created after Vodafone saw opportunities in the SMB sector.
“We are confident that small businesses can benefit from improved communications at the moment,” Goldsmith said. “Our goal is to get small business people talking to other small business people about how to maximise their communications' systems.”
Under the program, approved licensees are granted territories to focus on selling mobile voice and data services from Vodafone to companies with up to 250 employees. Licensees are also permitted to resell other small business solutions such as fixed broadband and Blackberry mobile email services from Vodafone.
Potential licensees are sales people with experience in technical areas and who are able to talk to customers on ways Vodafone solutions could benefit them, Goldsmith said. Telecommunications experience was not a prerequisite, as Vodafone provides training to licensees.
Goldsmith said Vodafone saw an opportunity in Australia for more than 100 licensees. Bizfone has signed up 15 independent communications consultants and has identified a further 50 high-growth areas where it is actively looking for new candidates.
