SAP vice-president of indirect channels Asia-Pacific moves to Orange

Tim Cavill's move to the enterprise communications service provider to have little impact on the running of SAP's local channel

Tim Cavill has left SAP after nine years to join Orange Business Services as its A/NZ managing director.

Cavill was the vice-president of indirect channels in Asia-Pacific and Japan prior to the move, having been promoted to the position in May. He was responsible for indirect strategy while in SAP’s global leadership team.

SAP communications director, Peter Sertori, said Cavill’s absence would have little impact on the vendor’s Australian channel.

We have Adam Edmondson to look after the local channel. Cavill’s role was more about setting up partner business in developing nations,” Sertori said. “I’m not aware of whether SAP has found a replacement for Cavill’s position yet.”

In his new role Cavill reports to Orange Business Services senior vice-president Asia-Pacific, Yee May Leong, and will focus on the positioning of the company in the enterprise space, promoting network related services for large multinationals and strategic business services such as telepresence.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for me. Orange Business Services is well positioned, and has a great customer set in Australia,” Cavill said. “My initial goal is to align the team along a common direction, and deliver on the promises we make to our customers.”
