Krone crows Airservices

Australian cable manufacturing

company, Krone, has secured a contract to install its TrueNet Platinum Cat 6eT cabling into Airservices Australia's headquarters.

Under the terms of the agreement, Krone will install cable into seven floors of the Alan Wood building in Can-berra's CBD.

Airservices Australia is a government-owned commercial authority responsible for the management of air traffic control across the country.

Worth half-a-million dollars, the rollout will also use Krone's Highband RJ45 data outlets, patch panels and modules. It will incorporate over 100 kilometres of TrueNet Cat6 cable and is expected to be complete by the end of the year.

Exabyte unveils fibre

channel Web site

Tape automation vendor Exabyte has launched a Web site designed to educate the channel and customers about the basics of storage area networks, serverless backup and fibre channel technology.

As well as general information about SANs and fibre channel, the Web site offers a number of white papers that contain extensive technical information.

Richard Giddy, regional manager of Exabyte Australasia, says while the Web site is not a sales or marketing device, it does contain information on Exabyte's recently released line of M2 (Mammoth 2) native fibre channel drive and automation Radware Q2 resultsNetwork traffic management vendor Radware has exploded with record Q2 2001 results. The Israeli-based company posted quarterly revenues of $US13 million, up $4.5 million or 53 per cent on the same period last year.

The Nasdaq-listed company reported net income for Q2 of fiscal 2001 of $1.9 million or 11 US cents per diluted share, compared to net income of $1.3 million or 7 US cents per diluted share in the same period of 2000.

Meir Moshe, chief financial officer of Radware, attributed the sound results to its reseller and distribution channel, despite a difficult market.
