Ethan Group has launched an on-demand infrastructure service in response to industry and economic demands.
Coined Virtual Infrastructure on Demand (VIoD), the service is an extension of the company's disaster recovery and storage infrastructure offerings.
The predictive fixed cost for VIoD starts at $175 per month and capacity is not capped.
Ethan Group managing director, Andrew Rayment, said the service would generate substantial returns for the services integrator.
“The industry is moving towards services such as these in a big way in light of the economic climate at the moment,” Rayment said. “It’s not a margin-rich deal as it’s very capital intensive, but we expect the volume demand will justify the business model.”
Ethan Group has built a 24-month relationship with VMware into a solid virtualisation practice within its managed services business, Rayment said.
The virtualisation practice has been experiencing strong growth, as has the services integrator's green computing division.
The company recently opened an office in Canberra, and continues to hire sales and engineering staff.
“We are profitable and able to offer a ‘safe haven’ of employment, and enjoy a strong relationship with customers and vendors,” Rayment said. “We’re also contemplating the take over of smaller companies and have developed an international presence, recently.”
