Dataweave has appointed three new employees as part of plans to put on 12 staff in its new Melbourne office over the next year.
The new recruits are: Regional manager southern region, Mike Turner; lead technical consultant, Phillip Brown; and middleware specialist consultant, Asheesh Bhatia.
The Oracle-certified integrator announced two weeks ago it had opened a Melbourne office, which would initially be staffed by three people.
Dataweave managing director, Norman Weaver, said the integrator was initially looking for additional consultants and database administrators to fill further positions in the Melbourne office.
Turner was previously a business development executive at ASG, where he was responsible for building the company’s Victorian Oracle business. Brown was previously a senior business systems administrator with Opes Prime Stockbroking, while Bhatia hails from New Zealand.
Weaver said he had worked with both Turner and Brown at Oracle in the past and was confident in their ability to build the Melbourne Oracle business.
“There’s a lot of opportunity in Melbourne at the moment with the Victorian Government’s investment in Oracle,” he said.
Dataweave will continue to build the Sydney headcount as well, Weaver said, although the growth rate would not be as rapid.
“We’re looking for additional applications functional people. We’ve got two positions to fill there at the moment,” he said.
