Hewlett-Packard paper will begin filtering through the Australian IT channel in August, with national wholesale distributor Daisytek securing exclusive rights to the product.
The new range includes standard white A4 copy paper, bright white paper, colour laser paper and premium laser paper. It is set to rival the Reflex line of copy paper.
Stephen Gates, Daisytek's general manager Asia-Pacific, said the agreement is already generating significant interest in the channel. "By extending its valued brand to paper, and recruiting Daisytek's nationwide distribution and drop-shipping capabilities for its full range of premium printing products, HP is providing the most powerful one-stop shop for high-quality printing supplies in the market."
2002 is shaping up as a big year for Daisytek, having acquired General Stationery Supplies in Brisbane to branch into the office products industry, opening a $1.4 million distribution centre in Sydney, and signing the HP distribution deal.
"As a result, we're now handling 12,000 product lines from 150 manufacturers, rounding off the product selection to include IT, OP (office products), some hardware and finally copy paper," said Gates.
