Email security vendor, MX Logic, will enter the A/NZ market through a sub-distribution agreement with Manage Protect.
Manage Protect will focus on SMBs with a software-as-a-service (SaaS) MX Logic anti-spam/antivirus service under the Manage Protect banner of MPmail.
Manage Protect sales and marketing vice-president, Andrew Johnson, said a key MX Logic benefit to SMBs was its monthly payment plan.
“We were looking for a vendor who was of like mind to us. We find that SMBs would prefer a month-to-month agreement plan as opposed to a yearly or 24-month contract with a vendor,” Johnson said.
Manage Protect’s focal points are cloud-based email and Web filtering, and email archiving in the cloud.
MX Logic’s offerings are core to Manage Protect's solutions, Johnson said.
“Email filtering is a very mature market, but Web filtering and email archiving haven’t got the same traction in Australia yet,” he said. “We’re very comfortable with MX Logic being our vendor of choice in this space.”
Manage Protect’s channel program catered to three kinds of resellers – security specialists, managed service providers and VARs, Johnson said.
“Commissions range from 10 to 40 per cent, and depend on the partner in terms of support, billing and whether they want self branding,” he said. “Essentially, the greater the level of commitment the better the commissions.”
Manage Protect has 12 partners, predominantly located in the eastern states. “We’re looking to grow the partner base, but through managed growth. Our focus is on developing key partners who are properly certified and trained,” Johnson said.
