Niche notebook vendor, Dialogue, has signed on Global Technologies as the first local distributor for its Flybook line.
Dialogue Australian representative, Laura Cozzolino, said the vendor had been in discussions with a number of potential distributors, but chose Global Technologies due to its niche business strategy.
“We were looking for someone concerned with quality and interested in promoting a niche product. Global Technologies already knew about the Flybook and were enthusiastic about it,” Cozzolino said. “We don’t want our distributors in conflict, but we’re looking for another distributor to cover different corporate fields.”
Dialogue and Global Technologies are working out a marketing strategy, Cozzolino said, with more concrete details to be formed over the coming weeks. Head of IT at Global Technologies, Suhail Akhtar, said Flybook was of interest as it fitted in well with the company’s other communications products.
“We’re a Telstra dealer and will be bundling data plans with the Flybook. I’ve dealt with Flybook overseas in the past, it’s a good product and a good opportunity for us,” Akhtar said.
He expected the product would have the best traction with executives and the fashion industry.
“It sets a different mood to other products in the market and we’re going to be leveraging our existing customer base as well as targeting fabric designers and showrooms to take the product to market,” Akhtar said.
