MessageLabs enhances partner program

New Premium Associate level provides better commission for partners.

Security vendor, MessageLabs, has expanded its Associate partner program to include a new Premium Associate level.

To qualify as a Premium Associate partner, resellers need to complete five client sales in the first 12 months and attract three new client sales each year. MessageLab’s program also consists of a standard Associate level, which is open to all types of partners and doesn’t have any entry criteria.

Partner account director, Belinda Burgess, said the vendor had boosted its partner numbers over the past couple of years from 50 to 250.

“The program has grown phenomenally and there’s no risk for partners to join up,” she said.

As part of the program partners have access to technical support, an account manager, online sales and marketing materials, the ability to customise email campaigns, online webinar and e-learning sessions.

Premium Associate partners will receive a commission each year on new customer contracts and any renewals they’re involved in. Standard Associate partners receive a one-time commission payment for the first year of a new contract.

Asia-Pacific marketing director, Andrew Antal, said the vendor had grown its business by 58 per cent year-on-year, particularly in the SMB and enterprise sector. He classified the SMB market as organisations with up to 500 seats.

“SMB has been a really critical space for us,” he said. “A lot of those organisations don’t have IT staff to put in systems or solutions that deal with security.”
