With just one sleep before ARN’s second annual Industry IT Awards night, the spotlight has fallen on the highly-competitive vendor category.
Following on from the success of last year’s three Vendor of the Year awards – hardware, software and specialist – the category has again drawn a superlative range of entries. The awards are aimed at recognising vendors that have contributed to making the channel successful.
Those that made the Hardware Vendor of the Year shortlist are: APC, EMC, Sun Microsystems, Netgear and last year’s winner, HP. The finalists were chosen from hundreds of nominations by ARN’s IT Awards judging panel and then voted on by an independent panel of judges from the industry.
In the software category 2007 winner, Microsoft, is again shortlisted against McAfee, Citrix, Symantec and VMware.
And with last year’s specialist vendor winner, VMware, challenging for the software vendor award this year, the specialist category is up for grabs. This year’s finalists are Clearswift, Kaseya, RSA Security, Red Education and Riverbed.
About 550 representatives from the industry will descend on the Sydney Hilton Hotel on September 18 to celebrate the achievements of their peers during the past year.
Alongside the awards and festivities, ARN will also hold an auction to raise funds for Clean Up Australia. There are five auction items up for grabs based around a number of experiences suitable for corporate or personal use.
