McAfee is launching a new SMB online licensing tool to assist SecurityAlliance Partners keep track of customer enewals.
The SMB Online Store Renewals Programme encourages SMB customers to directly renew their subscriptions online.
McAfee A/NZ regional director, Gavin Struthers, claimed the low end of the small corporate sector behaved like consumers in many ways.
“From the research that we’ve done, if you don’t have an online presence and a place for them to buy, and your competitors do, then you’re probably missing an opportunity in the market,” he said. “Our research indicates there are 245,000 small businesses in Australia and for our resellers to cover that market is a very big job.”
Struthers said the online tool would predominantly be targeted at SMBs that had less than 50 seat licences in A/NZ. Partners will get a commission for customers who make online renewals.
“A lot of resellers don’t have the time to run around for a small number of renewal licences, and that’s really our target. These are customers that are quite comfortable with renewing their software licences online,” he said.
Associate partners automatically qualify for the program. McAfee has more 400 Associate partners locally.
“We’re making sure that our partners don’t have the hassle of following up renewals and there’s something in it for them because they do get rewarded,” Struthers said. “The reseller can actually go online and see how many customers have renewed their licence.”
