CA goes on a tree planting spree

CA employees recently embarked on their first local tree planting project in the NSW towns of Orange and Bathurst.

Ten CA staff, four local schools and Conservation Australia volunteers joined forces to plant more than 3000 trees.

A $12,000 investment was made into the CA campaign to offset carbon emissions generated by employees travelling for work over the last fiscal year. During the two events the green crusaders were briefed on the Central West Catchment Management Authority’s sustainability projects, which CA is also funding.

Volunteers were also given demonstrations on water quality monitoring and testing.

The trip was the fi rst in a series of environmental projects CA has up its green sleeves.

A second round of tree planting is scheduled for Lucknow in September.
