DiData appoints CEO
Dimension Data Australia, formerly Com Tech Communications, has announced that one of its 12-year veterans, Steve Nola, has been appointed chief executive officer.
The move sees Nola take over the daily running of the integration business at Dimension Data Australia, a role previously handled by Jon Shein. Shein will take on a more strategic role in his position of group managing director, overseeing the operations of the company's integration, online services and learning solutions divisions.
Nola's former position as Victorian branch manager will now be filled by fellow Com Tech veteran Dave A'Prano.
Microview in Chaos
ChaosMusic is in the final throes of acquiring data storage firm Microview for $500,000, in a move that will significantly expand the online music retailer's position in the content and peripherals market.
Chaos has been strategically covering its bases in the online music content and peripherals distribution space over the last 18 months, fostering relationships with physical fulfillment companies and the Global Entertainment Retail Alliance (GERA).
In addition to its data-storage capabilities, Chaos will utilise Microview's short-run CD replication and DVD authoring skills. The online music retailer and wholesaler, which is 10 per cent owned by the Strathfield Group, has recently taken on licensing and distribution via a partnership with Singapore-based YCH Logistics.
