Dimension Data Learning Services (DDLS) has unveiled three new Microsoft training packages to help partners keep up to date with the software vendor’s launches.
The Certification Track Days last 3-10 days and cover technologies such as SharePoint, Vista and Windows Server 2008. The courses cover Microsoft’s technology platforms as well as the business skills such as management and negotiation.
DDLS technical instructor and readiness manager, Roland Leggat, said partners were struggling with the ‘revolutionary’ rather than ‘evolutionary’ changes to Microsoft products with new releases and had requested help.
“To maintain Gold or Platinum certifications, Microsoft partners need to keep up to speed with new releases,” Leggat said. “Current releases such as Server 2008 and SharePoint are very new technologies compared to previous releases.”
He said another trend driving the need for these courses was the changing expectations of what is expected from a business’ IT department.
“Now, IT needs to better service the business, not have the business service the IT department,” Leggat said. “It’s important to train IT staff how to adjust to this shift in focus.”
