• Previously undetectable fraudulent employee misuse of company vehicles costs individual Australian small businesses tens of thousands of dollars a year – and the industry many millions.

• Satellite tracking specialist phantomEye this month begins national distribution via Qld based GOFINDER, of an easy to install, cost effective “evolutionary” GPS Electronic Log Book which it claims will potentially save the Australian Small Business Sector $Millions by monitoring and detecting employee misuse of company vehicles.
Australian GPS surveillance specialist phantomEye announced today that its recently developed evolutionary Vehicle Time Tracker and Recorder – an electronic log book which uses satellite tracking and Google Earth and reports via Telstra’s Next G network to provide small businesses with online time, attendance and activity records of employees driving company vehicles – will begin national distribution this week.

The product has been licenced to GPS specialist GOFINDER for national distribution. (Graham Thomas 0427 783 333 or www.gofinder.net)

( Earlier this year phantomEye launched “My Spot” - a new “panic button” personal security tracking system for GPS enabled smartphones which it is successfully selling internationally. Go to www.phantomeye.com.au for more information.)

Gofinder founder Graham Thomas said the unit, to be marketed as the GOFINDER REPORTER is an easily installed electronic vehicle logbook, which automatically displays essential tracking data online, “to facilitate workforce management and record keeping and to prevent profit erosion from employee rorts and outright fraudulent vehicle misuse.”

“It may not necessarily be all that popular with employees who may feel it has some nasty ‘Big Brother’ implications – but it will give management control they didn’t have before,” Mr. Thomas said.

“Reporting via Telstra Next G which covers 99% of the Australian population, the GOFINDER REPORTER is an affordable vehicle reporting unit and time clock, that in addition to virtual real time tracking sends email and online reports to management including:

• An automatic daily time sheet for each vehicle showing start and finish times, driving time, parked time, distance covered, number of journeys and maximum speed. This provides data for payroll, audit, tax and workplace records.

• A daily report of all addresses visited, with the time spent at each, which can also be used for invoice costing purposes.

• A daily or monthly mileage report that can be used to compare distance travelled with actual fuel purchases.

• A continuously updated travel history showing the latest position of the vehicle displayed on street map or satellite photo form.

“The units are easily installed by an auto electrician and three levels of pricing means that it is suitable for tracking a single company car – or a small fleet,” Mr. Thomas said.

All pricing includes GST.

Plan 1 ; $599 plus $49 per month subscription for minimum twelve months.

Plan 2 $549 plus $ 135 per quarter subscription for minimum four quarters.

Plan 3 $499 plus $ 499 annual subscription.

“With GOFINDER REPORTER installed we believe small businesses can save around $750 per vehicle per month – apart from the total elimination of vehicle misuse and fraud which is impossible to calculate, ” said Thomas.

A nationwide installation service is available where required

“My company has increasingly been fielding enquiries from small business proprietors who suspect – but cannot prove - they are being ripped off by dishonest employees driving company vehicles.

“ With fuel costs rocketing, it is critical that small businesses now monitor company vehicle use far more carefully, and no longer turn a blind eye to employee misuse,” Thomas said, identifying six areas of real concern:

• Employees going home during working hours or simply knocking off early
• Staff failing to make scheduled sales or service calls
• “Moonlighting” occurring at weekends using company vehicles and materials for “cash” business.
• The filling up private vehicles on a company vehicle fuel account
• Falsifying overtime claims or “time theft”
• Speeding and vehicle abuse

What information does GOFINDER REPORTER provide?

• A Daily Time Sheet showing the location of the start and finish times, driving time, parked time, distance covered, number of journeys and maximum speed. This may be exported to Excel where private and business journeys can be recorded, or sent automatically via email to selected recipient.

• An automatic Vehicle Log Book which records individual journeys, start and end location, with driving time, distance and maximum speed.
Each location can be customized e.g by name or customer reference, and can be displayed on a street map or satellite photo. Journeys can also be displayed on Google Earth.

• A Time at Site Report showing locations visited, arrival time, departure time and duration of visit, which may be exported to Excel for costing or proof of visit purposes. Locations may be individually plotted on a street map.

• A Daily or Monthly mileage report expressed in graphic or tabular form, with an estimated fuel consumption report for comparison with actual
claims for fuel purchases.

• A continuously updated Travel History showing the latest position of the vehicle at five – ten minute intervals, which is displayed in map or satellite form upon logging in. This is automatically refreshed to show the current position.

• Automatic notification via E Mail or SMS (charged) of significant events, to nominated recipients e.g.
o Breach of a pre determined electronic fence.
o Tow or motion detection.
o End of journey alert.
o Start of journey alert.

What are the benefits of GOFINDER REPORTER?
