Infrastructure provider, Telarus, has announced a partnership with EMC to provide its partners with greater virtualisation and storage services support.
The arrangement makes Telarus an EMC Velocity Partner for the vendor’s Clariion Storage Area Network (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) platform.
Telarus managing director, Jules Rumsey, said that, from a managed services perspective, the partnership allowed the company to do the capital intensive infrastructure work which partners could use to deliver solutions on.
“It’s early days yet but we’ve been in discussions with a number of our channel partners, and everyone who has strength in this area has shown interest,” Rumsey said.
Telarus has 45 active channel partners. Rumsey said the solutions offered through its EMC partnership wouldn’t appeal to everybody, but he expected to attract new partners to the fold.
“We’re talking to some of EMC’s other partners to see how we can help them and we’re actively seeking new partners with the new solutions,” he said.
Telarus will continue to look for other opportunities with technologies as they become prominent in the market, Rumsey said.
“Channel sales contributes more than 50 per cent of our sales, so we are always looking for initiatives that empower our channel and keep up with current market trends,” he said. “Six months ago we bolstered our channel sales team and towards the end of the year we’ll be making a number of releases around our channel plans.”
