Servex has kicked off its distribution partnership with networking manufacturer Linksys, establishing an AFL and NRL football tipping competition for its resellers.
Using weekly prizes and giveaways for resellers who sign up to the tipping competition along with margin incentives on Linksys product, Servex hopes to expand its traditional reseller base, according to business development manager Tim Davoren.
Servex has enlisted the services of Internet applications company Nextgen to host the tipping competition, which caters for both the Australian Football League and National Rugby League competitions. Nextgen provides hosting for similar promotional tipping competitions for Ninemsn and Bundaberg.
"[Nextgen] are doing it for real, brand-focused companies, and that's what we're hoping to do with the Linksys brand," said Davoren.
He said Linksys received a "bad rap" with former wholesaler Edge, which collapsed in October 2000. Servex hopes to use the tipping competition to redress the brand's image in the local market.
According to Davoren, Servex hopes to engender reseller traffic to the distributor's Web site, increase sales of Linksys products and make a broader range of resellers more aware of Servex's portfolio.www.oztips.com/easyoztips/servex.
