CA’s local channel sales chief, Allan Smith, has quit his post just three months after taking on the role.
Smith was appointed vice-president of channel sales across Pacific in June after a stint as CA’s vice-president of Pacific sales. He had spent more than 17 years with the software vendor in two stages and worked in a variety of sales and management roles locally as well as in the US and Asia.
Smith’s appointment followed the abrupt departure of former senior director of channels, Michael Bosnar.
Smith said he was pursuing an external opportunity outside of CA but declined to comment further. His last day is September 24.
In a statement to ARN, CA said the vendor’s partner-led sales teams will now be overseen by regional vice-president of channel sales, Asia-Pacific and Japan, Nick Ellis.
“I would like to thank Allan for the significant contribution he has made to CA and wish him well in his new endeavours,” CA’s corporate senior vice-president, Asia-Pacific and Japan, Gavin Selkirk, said.
