Data security vendor, Utimaco, has opened its first Australian office as it seeks to boost its local presence and channel relationships.
Newly appointed Utimaco regional manager, Colin Lim, said the vendor was keen to expand on its Asian footprint and saw Australia as a key market.
“We’ve had a number of resellers here for a couple of years now, as well as a distributor in Computerlinks, and these partners have secured a number of clients including banks and government,” Lim said. “The changes in compliance and regulatory issues has also helped drive demand for these kinds of products.
“My main focuses are to look after our current customers and help provide them with our new suite of products, as well as increase our reseller base and secure some key reference accounts.”
The Sydney office is currently being manned solely by Lim, who said a sales engineer would be brought on-board by the end of the year.
Utimaco is based out of Germany and has been operating for 25 years. It provides data security solutions to mid- to large-size organisations to safeguard against data loss and to comply with privacy laws.
