Sony has put screen size at the top of the priority list in its new Vaio notebook, the GRX3P. The 16.1-inch UXGA screen and 1.6GHz Intel Pentium 4 mobile processor are features that will make the device a compelling desktop replacement argument, according to Sony. The notebook is aimed at the executive market, but also focuses on the entertainment aspects of computing. It features a CD-RW/DVD-ROM combo drive and ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 graphics accelerator and comes standard with 256MB of DDR and a 40GB hard drive. The notebook comes with i.Link and USB connections, a Memory Stick slot, network port and internal modem and the Windows XP Professional OS.
The notebook will be available in September and carries a retail price of $5,299.
