Enterprise and mobile software vendor, Sybase, has partnered with business intelligence software vendor, Yellowfin, to enhance its analytics offering.
Sybase IQ is an optimised analytics server addressing business intelligence, data warehouse and reporting solutions. Yellowfin provides web-based tools for reporting and analytics offering data access, presentation and information delivery features.
Yellowfin CEO, Glen Rabie, said the partnership with Sybase opened up opportunities for the channel in the business intelligence market. Sybase has more than 110 local partners, most of which are systems integrators and VARs that develop their own software solutions on top of its database technology. Rabie said he would look to recruit several service-oriented partners to take the Yellowfin IQ solution to the market.
"We're trying to find who the best partners are in their particular markets and whether or not we have a technology solution that fits," he said. "We're 100 per cent channel and we take a lot of time to select appropriate partners."
Partners will be offered training, joint marketing activities and margins, Rabie said.
Sybase director of channels and alliances A/NZ, Steve Dolan, claimed Yellowfin had an effective way of substantially increasing the number of users that can have access to database services.
"Yellowfin can get access to technical resources and we can work with them to make sure they're leveraging all the functionality," he said. "It gives us a chance to increase Yellowfin's visibility within the Sybase customer base. I think it helps to be very skillful and efficient in addressing customer requirements."
