ViewSonic CD4620

This digital signage display is part of a new series of screens from ViewSonic and features a thin bezel design and full high-definition resolution. The CD4620 offers tiling of up to five displays in both directions and RS-232 chain connectivity that allows users to control multiple displays with one computer. Other functions include integrated scheduling technology, image sticking protection and picture-in-picture and picture-on-picture viewing. The display comes with an optional stand and multiple device connectivity ports to accommodate any venue and business need, the vendor claims. The CD4620 has 1920 x 1080 high-definition resolution, 6 millisecond (ms) response time, 1200:1 (typ) contrast ratio and 450 nits (typ) of brightness for vibrant, clear text and images in any setting. Of the other displays in the range, the CD4220 includes a 1200:1 (typ) contrast ratio, 500 nits (typ), 1366 x 768 resolution and 8ms response time. The CD3200 has a 1200:1 (typ) contrast ratio, 500 nits (typ), 1366 x 768 resolution and 8ms response time.

LG External Super Multi Blue Blu-ray Disc Rewriter

The Rewriter (BE06) has been designed as a quick and portable device for data storage. It offers Blu-ray disc read and write speeds of up to 6X. LG claims the unit is a good backup option for home or offices. It can record up to 50GB of data, which is the equivalent of up to nine hours of high-definition video or 23 hours of standard definition video, on a dual-layer 50GB BD-R/BD-RE recordable disc. The BE06 plugs into the computer via a USB 2.0 port and DC power connector and can be used as an external drive for users with notebooks or multiple PCs. The drive is compatible with Blu-ray, HD DVD, DVD and CD formats. It has a 3X read speed for HD DVD, up to 16X read and write speeds for DVD and up to 40X read and write speeds for CDs. The drive weighs 1.5kg, supports LightScribe and comes with a suite of software utilities for Blu-ray and DVD authoring and playback for Windows XP or Vista. It measures 163x50x260mm and has a 4MB buffer.

Toshiba USB 2.0 Portable External Drives

Available in three sizes - 160GB, 250GB and 320GB - Toshiba's portable hard drives are 2.5-inches long and weigh 198.4g. Designed around ease of use, the drives are pre-loaded with NTI Shadow automated backup software, which runs in the background and can capture and save file updates to the external drive. This allows the user to choose continuous or specific days, times and frequencies for backup operation in the set-up process and run multiple jobs simultaneously. The software also provides drag and drop restoration. The drives run at up to 480Mbps and store data in the original file format, meaning no special software is required to open the files on another computer. Powered via USB 2.0, the drives include an internal shock sensor and ramp loading technology to keep drives and data safe while on the move. The drives are ready to go out of the box and certified to work with Windows XP and Vista as well as Mac OS 10.3.9 or later. All of the drives come with a limited three-year Toshiba warranty.
