Check Point UTM-1

Check Point claims its UTM-1 Total Security appliances are all-inclusive, turnkey solutions designed to address everything administrators need to secure a network simply and cost effectively. The appliance series is designed for a unified approach and adds messaging security, which provides protection against the three most common attack vectors: Spam and other unwanted email, viruses or malware contained within messages and attacks against the messaging infrastructure, such as email servers. The UTM-1 Total Security appliances include centralised multi-site management and integrated features bundled with support and all services. Security tools include firewall, intrusion prevention, gateway antivirus and anti-spyware, messaging security including antispam, Web application firewall, VoIP security, instant messaging (IM) and peer-to-peer (P2P) blocking, URL filtering, as well as secure site-to-site and remote access connectivity. The range consists of six models: The 270, 450, 570, 1050, 2050 and 3070. All are available for unlimited licenced users, support up to 256 VLANs and have 80GB-160GB of storage. VPN throughput starts from 100MBps (UTM-1 270) up to 1.1Gbps (UTM-1 3070).

TriGeo Security Information Manager

This security appliance combines realtime log management, event correlation and endpoint security with active response technology. TriGeo automatically identifies, notifies and responds to suspicious behaviour, policy violations and network attacks, reducing the risk of costly network attacks from both internal and external sources. The ability to perform real-time event analysis and correlation is the most important feature of any security information and event manager (SIEM) solution. TriGeo's event correlation, known as effective policy through intelligent correlation (EPIC), is patent-pending technology designed specifically for high-performance, real-time analysis and multi-dimensional correlation. EPIC's correlation engine is designed as a scalable and multi-dimensional event framework, eliminating the bottleneck of database insertion and query speeds associated with engines based on database technology,TriGeo claims. It has the ability to actively defend the network with over 600 highly targeted correlation rules and dozens of active responses that include the ability to quarantine, block, route and control services, processes, accounts and privileges. TriGeo uses 64-bit, in-memory technology to deliver multiple-event, field-level, non-linear correlation.
