PC and components distributor, Altech Computers, has formed a partnership with motherboard vendor, Foxconn, to replace its MSI range.
Altech managing director, Antony Sheen, said the distributor was not happy with MSI, who it formed a partnership with in 2006, and was greatly slowing down its operations with the vendor.
"They promised a lot and didn't deliver on those promises," Sheen said. "We've had a long association with Foxconn previously, as we were selling its chassis range, so this partnership is more an expansion on the product range that we'll carry and a sign that we're taking the partnership much more seriously."
Foxconn motherboards target the systems integrator and PC builders market, Sheen said. Altech will be carrying its full product line including motherboards, graphics cards and chassis.
Altech was looking at further cleaning up its portfolio, Sheen said, both by taking on further vendor partners and potentially dropping support for some others.
Altech is also stepping up its international expansion this year with the launch of a Hong Kong branch.
Sheen said the distributor would round out its Australian presence with an Adelaide office in October or November this year.
