Toshiba ISD Announces New General Manager</p>
<p>Sydney, 26 February 2004 - Toshiba (Australia) Pty. Limited, today announced the appointment of Mark Whittard as General Manager of its Information Systems Division (ISD). He will replace Ralph Stadus who has resigned after three years with the company.</p>
<p>Currently National Marketing and Retail Business Manager of Toshiba ISD, Mr Whittard will assume the new role from 1 May, 2004. He has been with Toshiba for five years and currently oversees the retail business unit and all areas of marketing including: industry, channel and product strategies and communications for Australia and New Zealand.</p>
<p>Mr Hidehito Murato, Managing Director Toshiba Australia, said: “Mark has worked very closely with Ralph on the strategy and direction of Toshiba ISD. He brings a wealth of experience and he will provide our customers, the channel and staff with great leadership and continuity.”</p>
<p>“Ralph has contributed greatly to the success of Toshiba in terms of business re-engineering and strategy. We wish him well in his new endeavours and thank him for his commitment to Toshiba,” he said.</p>
<p>According to Ralph Stadus: “The last three years have been challenging and stimulating for the IT industry. I have thrived on providing the strategy and business direction for the Toshiba ISD business in Australia and New Zealand. I have also enjoyed Toshiba’s corporate culture and core values and believe that Toshiba’s commitment to its people is one of its biggest assets.”</p>
<p>According to Mark Whittard: “Toshiba will continue to set the benchmark for mobile computing through engineering leadership and a significant R&amp;D investment for the future. This commitment extends to our people, our channel focus and supporting our customers’ success. I look forward to carrying on the work our local team has started.”</p>
<p>Ralph will be consulting to Toshiba about one week a month and will be pursuing other business and personal interests.</p>
