Logica scores two new outsourcing deals

Logica continues to establish a strong foothold in the Australian market after winning two new IT outsourcing contracts with New South Wales state-owned organisations Eraring Energy and Pacific Power.

The latest wins cap off a successful six months for the Melbourne-based systems integrator which recently secured long-term outsourcing contracts with some of the country's largest energy and utilities companies, including TXU, Woodside, Transend and Yarra Valley Water.

Under the latest contracts, Logica will provide end-to-end support for Eraring Energy and Pacific Power's IT environments, including help-desk, desktop, LAN/WAN and server support, data centre facilities and operations, database administration and applications support.

Eraring Energy is one of Australia's largest power generators, providing approximately 25 per cent of the electricity in New South Wales.

Under its agreement with Eraring Energy, Logica will provide support services to Sydney Corporate Office, Eraring Power Station, Burrinjuck Power Station, Kangaroo Valley and Bendeela Power Stations, Warragamba Power Station and Keepit Power Station.

As part of its contract with Pacific Power, Logica will provide support services mainly to the company's energy services arm, Pacific Power International, which is located in Sydney's CBD, as well as The Advanced Technology Centre (within the grounds of Newcastle University) and minor sites within New South Wales.
