Apple dealer Next Byte decided to celebrate its seventh year in the market with an acquisition, buying a former Tyche Digital outlet in the midst of Sydney's central business district.
The store, which opened this week in Clarence Street, is the third Sydney store for the company. Next Byte already operates stores at Baulkham Hills and Pymble and has been rapidly expanding across Australia for the last two years. The company also bought an Apple dealership in Chatswood last year, but closed the operation to drive customers to its existing stores.
Meanwhile, Tyche Digital, which once had five stores across Sydney, now operates just two outlets: its signature dealership, the former StatusGraph store in Broadway; and the Apple Centre Neutral Bay, which until recently was also for sale.
Despite recent supply constraints in the Apple channel, Next Byte directors believe growth in 2002 will be particularly good, as Apple's new products begin to make an impact on the market.
"In fact, we are heading into another golden period and the next six months are going to be awesome with some great products coming our way in the very near future," said founding director Adam Steinhardt.
