Specialist hardware distribution house Dicker Data will enlarge its operations next month with the launch of its Print Image Division.
The new division will carry products from the distributor's traditional partners, Epson, Canon, Toshiba and Compaq.
Although it opens a new revenue stream for the company, the division's ultimate success will depend on expanding its product range, according to Fiona Dicker, the company's founder and managing director.
"We expect the Print Image Division to contribute somewhere between 5 and 10 per cent of our revenue," Dicker said. "But that will depend on our ability to get HP on board."
Dicker said the company is currently looking into additional product lines including the Toshiba handheld and projector range, the Epson projector, and the full range of HP printers and scanners, which it hopes to start offering "soon".
The launch will be accompanied by a range of marketing activities such as demo stock pricing and advertising campaigns.
At this stage, no additional staff will be put on to assist the expansion.
