Ingram Micro's six-month-long Excelleration sales promotion came to a crescendo with a gala black-tie affair held at Star City Casino in Sydney on Friday, April 5.
On the night, one lucky Ingram customer, Chris Hill from Cassa Australia, drove away in a brand new Audi S3 valued at $67,000.
Joining Ingram Micro staff and Excelleration sponsors on the evening were the 50 finalists for the promotion, who had been flown in from all over Australia. From the final 50, six winners were drawn at random from a barrel before each were given keys to boxes holding the six major prizes. One of the boxes held the keys to the Audi and by a process of elimination it came down to the final two, Hill and Alan Ren from Opele/IT Star.
Unfortunately, Ren had the wrong key and had to settle for the second prize, a $7,000 Caribbean trip for two.
Ingram Micro's managing director, Steve Rust, was delighted to present the winner with his prize and said that it was great to be able to bring all the promotion finalists together for such an event.
"It's not that often that we can all get dressed up, go out together and have a good time," he said. "It's a pleasure to see everyone looking so good and relaxed."
Rust was also quick to thank the sponsors of the promotion and the marketing team at Ingram Micro, headed by marketing manager Tanya Koens and promotions coordinator Nada Faroj. He said it had been a huge success for the company.
"As well as the six months that the promotion ran for, it was six months in the planning," he said. "The marketing and sales teams have done a tremendous job, which has helped Ingram achieve 11 consecutive months of growth.
"We now have a great team in place and it is our goal to be the number one distributor in Australia."
Naturally, Hill was ecstatic after the win. "We hopefully have our wins in business most days but nothing compares to the excitement of standing on that stage and then winning the Audi," he gushed. "I think the memory will stay with me forever. My sincerest thanks go to all involved at Ingram."
