Singapore-based eSys has made its debut into the Australian market, with the PC components and hard drive distributor officially launched its Oceania regional operations in Sydney yesterday.eSys, which specialises in memory, CPUs, motherboards, monitors and printers, will initially be working with hard drive vendor Western Digital. It will also be working with MCS, which offers IP-based multipoint-to-multipoint videoconferencing systems, according to a company statement. eSys plans to offer the videoconferencing solution through an application service provider model and has reportedly initiated talks with an Australian telco service provider.
"We see Australia as an exciting opportunity for further acquisition and expansion and we're already looking to build a channel through existing distributors and by recruiting partners," said Vikas Goel, eSys Integrated, Australia/NZ.
According to Daniel Loski, vice president of sales for Western Digital, South Asia: "The Asia-Pacific region, including Australia, is currently the fastest-growing PC market in the world and is a strategic focus of Western Digital. eSys is an integral component of our distribution strategy in Australia, where both companies are partnering to grow our respective positions in the market."
