When Queensland-based Data#3 expanded into other states it invested heavily in establishing its volume licensing business. That investment paid off last month when the ASX-listed services company took out Microsoft's top reseller award in Singapore.
Microsoft awarded Data#3 its "Large Account Reseller Sales Excellence Award 2002, South Pacific Region" at the software giant's Asia-Pacific conference in April.
The award recognises growth and excellent customer service in Microsoft volume licensing revenue and annuity business, which includes enterprise agreements, upgrade advantage and software assurance, according to a statement released by Data#3.
"We have invested heavily to ensure Data#3 has the best licensing consultants and software reporting systems to assist our customers with productivity improvements and increased return on investment," said John Grant, Data#3's CEO.
Microsoft deals directly with around 15 large account resellers in Australia to provide enterprise customers (more than 250 seats) with the most cost-effective licensing agreements. Data#3 beat off tough competition from the likes of Dimension Data, Volante Systems, Powerlan and Software Spectrum for the award.
"Data#3's national licensing solutions team has proven that they are the best in the region at adding value to customer licensing plans and purchasing decisions," said Robert Vogler, Microsoft's national volume licensing manager.
"The advice provided by Data#3's licensing solutions team has kept customers and prospects informed of changes in Microsoft licensing programs, ensuring they have a detailed licensing plan and are purchasing under the most suitable plan for their organisation."
