Sydney, Australia (October 1, 2003) – Networking specialist NETGEAR (Nasdaq:NTGR) has appointed Synnex Australia as a national distributor, extending NETGEAR’s reach within the Australian market.

Synnex has worked with NETGEAR for the past two years as a sub-distributor but its business has now grown to a level that warrants its appointment as a full distributor.

“2003 has been a record year for NETGEAR globally with our successful listing on the NASDAQ stock exchange, our recent financial results and the runaway success of our business-class and SOHO product portfolios,” said Ian McLean, Managing Director, NETGEAR Asia Pacific.

“To perpetuate this growth and extend NETGEAR’s reach throughout Australia, Synnex will now join NETGEAR as a new national distrbutor, complementing our established distributor base.”

Since its inception in 1997, Synnex Australia has enjoyed rapid growth throughout Australia, now placed as one of the country’s top three IT distributors.

"Synnex has been working with NETGEAR for over two years now, so this direct relationship will bring the business to a new level for both of us. The NETGEAR brand is already strong in the networking space and Synnex can now extend and fully support our customer base with NETGEAR solutions," said Kee Ong, Senior Manager, Synnex.
