Software solutions firm MXL has announced an agreement with a major educational peak body in the UK, potentially yielding the Australian company $8 million in the first two years of the agreement.
MXL and its UK distributor Marketing Data Matters (MDM) have made an agreement with ARELS (the UK Association of Recognised English Language Schools) to supply the education management software eMinerva to up to 350 ARELS member colleges across England.
Developed over four years, eMinerva is a Web-based package designed to give tertiary education organisations one complete solution to all their data requirements: from student enrolments through to management of teaching modules.
Under the agreement, eMinerva will be the endorsed college management software for the 350 UK colleges. ARELS will have responsibility for marketing the software to its members, including its global affiliates.
The pricing model is based on a per student enrolment fee which is geared to a reducing scale as student enrolments increase beyond 1000.
With the agreement now in place, MDM will focus on distribution in the wider education market as well as the UK corporate sector.
MXL anticipates speedy adoption of eMinerva in colleges from June 2002.
MXL is planning to release an enhanced version of eMinerva in October 2002 that will target secondary education institutions.
