Ingram Micro has been appointed distributor for Britannica Asia Pacific and will take the vendor's reference and learning tools to its broad reseller and OEM assembler customer base.
Under the deal, all of Britannica's OEM products and services, as well as its configure-to-order range, will now be marketed to the distributor's white-box assemblers.
According to Ingram Micro Australia's managing director, Steve Rust, the Britannica deal represents a great value add to local assemblers wanting to pre-load software offerings on the boxes they are building and sell into education and home markets.
"Encyclopeadia Britannica has an excellent reputation for delivering quality products," Rust said in a press statement. "We are pleased to partner with an organisation that has its sights set on utilising all new forms of media to enrich the information available to people wherever and whenever required."
Ingram Micro joins Roadshow Entertainment and Scholastic Australia as distributors of Britannica's CD-ROM, DVD and OEM products.
