XML software developer N-space has announced the appointment of former Arthur Andersen manager Matthew Elliott as business development manager.

Elliott developed enterprise content management systems in his previous position at Arthur Andersen, and prior to this filled a range of systems integration, business-process automation and knowledge-management development roles at a range of services companies, including Fuji Xerox Australia, Unisys and CSC.

UDDI version 2

UDDI (universal description, discovery, integration), an online directory to facilitate B2B e-commerce, has opened its doors to more international businesses with the release of version two of the UDDI specification.

UDDI V2 supports description of complex corporate organisational structures, allows additional categorisation of business activities, and supports multiple languages. A brainchild of IBM, Microsoft and Ariba, UDDI aims to smooth electronic business by enabling businesses to provide information about their products and services on the Web as well as locate partners and customers.

Spring in July

Macromedia has announced it will release its Sitespring Web development product into public beta in July.

Sitespring is a Web-based application that manages the Web site production process, enabling teams of remote developers to collaborate efficiently on projects.

It consists of a number of reporting and workflow tools that ensure files are not reworked by several developers.
