The home automation division of Alloys International, MediaHub, has teamed up with US-based consumer electronics vendor, Niveus Media.
Niveus produces a range of medium to high-end media centres, storage servers and control software. MediaHub CEO, Paul Harman, said the product range integrated perfectly with the other vendors in the distributor's stable.
"Originally the plan was to make our own products in this space, but we're not PC builders, so we started to look for a vendor that shared our vision," he said.
MediaHub will bundle the Niveus range with projectors from vendors such as Epson and Canon, as well as Blu-ray and LCD products. The distributor will kick off its marketing initiatives by showcasing Niveus' products at the Cedia exhibition in Queensland in July.
Harman said MediaHub had partnered with Acer on some similar products over the past year, and although this would continue, he felt Acer was moving in a different direction to Niveus' focus. Harman said this was the first significant presence Niveus has had in Australia. In a media release, Niveus spokesperson, Eric Randolph, said the partnership fitted with the vendor's international expansion efforts over the last 18 months
