Express Online takes on Logitech

Consumer electronics vendor says sub-distribution agreement is part of its plans to work more closely with channel partners

Express Online has announced a sub-distribution partnership with Logitech.

The consumer-orientated vendor has a wide range of products from keyboards to speakers and gaming peripherals. Express Online general manager, Alison McQuarrie, said the products filled some of the gaps in its portfolio and was complementary to vendors in its stable, such as Acer and Apple.

"We'll definitely be capitalising on those bundling opportunities as well as the typical media and online marketing initiatives to get the products out there," she said.

McQuarrie didn't expect much competition between Logitech and other vendors carried by Express Online.

"There's a bit of crossover with keyboards and mice, but we don't have products in other areas, such as speakers, where Logitech is very strong," she said.

As a broad-based distributor, McQuarrie said Express Online was always looking at bringing other vendors on-board. "They have to suit our product mix though," she said. "There's no sense representing five or six vendors with directly competing products."

Logitech product and marketing manager, Nick Angelucci, said the arrangement tied in with the vendor's plans to draw in dedicated partners to the brand.

"Express Online is very committed and really want to work with us. We're always keen to work with close partnerships and develop their business," he said.
