Privacy app hits market

American vendor Advercast has released a privacy tool for Web surfers that deletes all the data in browsers and Web agents designed to track user activity.

SurfSecret, deletes the cache files and stored data that can be used to profile an Internet user's activity. It also cleans out any trace of Internet Messaging activity, and the Java and ActiveX cache files that clutter users' hard disks.

The tool works with all versions of the Microsoft Windows operating system and runs on a variety of browsers. It also removes cookie and cache files from windows locations such as the document menu, run menu, find menu and the recycle bin.

The application is available for download on the Internet, at a cost of approximately $60.
