Distributor BCN Technology has expanded its offerings, taking on new product lines from Swann Communications and Guillemot.
BCN will distribute the full range of Swann products, particularly to small and medium resellers. BCN joins Ingram Micro in the list of distributors for the Australian-owned vendor.
Meanwhile, Guillemot, looking to expand its presence in Australia, has appointed BCN as its first national distributor. BCN will service the wider reseller channel, primarily focusing on Guillemot's Hercules product range. The company will also distribute the Thrustmaster range. Together these brands encompass products such as graphics cards, LCD screens, sound cards, speakers, digital cameras, game theatre equipment and PC and console game accessories.
Guillemot's products have increasingly focused on hardware for the gaming market. With the fierce competition in the console market, game peripherals continue to grow in popularity.
"The leisure hardware market is poised for growth and we see BCN Technology's appointment as bringing on board a company with a successful distribution track record that will help us and our resellers drive this market," said Guillemot sales manager Nathan Dingle.
Guillemot established a sales office in Australia early last year, initially handling all its distribution directly, but the vendor has now decided to take on a channel partner to expand its reach.
BCN managing director Ken Lowe said the offerings would fill out the breadth of product for the company. "The value of distributors is not just the best pricing today, it is the relationship with the channel and the spirit of the company," he said.
