New Hitachi MD stresses channel's importance

Vincent replaces Mark Kay, who has taken up a regional role

Hitachi Data Systems has appointed Neville Vincent to replace Mark Kay as its ANZ country manager. Kay has been promoted to the position of senior vice-president and general manager Asia-Pacific.

Vincent comes to the position having been the country manager for Hitachi Data Systems in Korea for the past three years.

His initial focus will be on finding opportunities for growth.

"We've identified our growth potential as being quite high and we've set ourselves the goal of doubling our business," Vincent said "The only way to realise that goal is to have a very robust channel program."

Vincent said he didn't plan to make any changes to the channel model in the immediate future. Hitachi Data Systems has recently made seven new channel appointments as part of its investment plan to better engage its channel.

"I'm still getting my head around where to allocate investment resources, but we'll be making substantial investments to achieve our goals, and my job is to craft that strategy," Vincent said.
