SecureServ inks Mimosa deal

Distributor claims Mimosa's NearPoint solution enhances Microsoft Exchange capabilities and migration process.

SecureServ has pumped up its instant messaging and email archiving portfolio by signing a new agreement with US-based Mimosa Systems.

The vendor's NearPoint for Microsoft Exchange product offers users immediate recovery, archival access to enterprise information and storage management.

SecureServ general manager, Vic Whiteley, said Mimosa had been well aware of the distributor's work with other vendors such as FaceTime and Proofpoint.

"Email archiving is a billion dollar market worldwide," he said. "It's a big market for the channel because a lot of companies haven't moved into it yet, so the growth opportunity is phenomenal."

Whiteley said from an electronic discovery standpoint, Mimosa was strong in the legal market.

"It will certainly be a major focal area for us," he said. "Mimosa works with lawyers in the US to help them develop these types of products."

Microsoft Exchange resellers would be ideal to offer range to market, Whiteley said. Partners will be able to access Mimosa's comprehensive lead generation program.

"They [Microsoft Exchange resellers] are a major target because Mimosa helps to enhance the performance of Exchange and eases the migration process to later versions," he said.

Mimosa Systems Asia-Pacific sales director, Tommy Nham, said the vendor was impressed with SecureServ's wealth of experience and success distributing security products.

Nham said he was currently in discussions to add another distributor in the local market.

In other news, SecureServ is looking to add two more sales staff to its team. The distributor currently has eight employees.

"We're in the process of growing rapidly," Whiteley said. "We've been very successful in the messaging arena and we're also looking into providing solutions for virtualisation as well."
