Volante Systems and IT Wholesale have scooped the pool at this year's IBM PC Division Business Partner Awards, taking out the IBM PC National Reseller Award and the IBM PC Distributor of the Year Award, respectively.
The awards were held in each state in conjunction with IBM's PartnerMeet roadshow.
They have been designed to highlight the success of resellers and distributors in the channel, with particular emphasis on creating a performance benchmark for IBM Business Partners and their staff.
Volante Systems was also anointed IBM Reseller of the Year for the states of NSW, Queensland and Victoria. "The awards give us internal recognition within IBM," said Volante's managing director, Hugh Bickerstaff. "It also shows prospective IBM customers that we're a good partner to do business with."
Bickerstaff said that what differentiated Volante from its competitors was not just operational excellence but a focus on customer intimacy.
"What's given us the edge is our focus on providing maximum value add to our customers and the vendor. By that I mean being customer-specific and being flexible," he said. "We achieve this by establishing a service-level agreement with the customer and by using our B2B system Customer Connect, which is a fully integrated end-to-end e-business offering that basically eliminates eight re-keyings from the process."
