Enterprise software vendor, Open Text, has hired Chris Petersen as its channel alliances and partners manager A/NZ.
In the newly-created role, he will be responsible for driving the vendor's channel business, managing current partnerships and market development. Petersen previously spent two years at Salesforce.com as its A/NZ director of alliances. Prior to that, he was with IBM for 10 years.
"It's a reinvestment into the region and we're building up the team to support our channel and grow exponentially in the next year," Petersen said.
In the past couple of months, the company has also hired Delicia Cordeaux as its Asia-Pacific technical director and Leonie Cusack as marketing manager, bringing its staff count up to 40.
Petersen said his first point of focus is to help enable partners by delivering technical and sales training. He also plans to put a customer networking structure in place.
The software vendor has six partners in region including Alphawest, Logica, Knowledge Partners and WindowLogic.
"Open Text has acquired a lot of different companies over the years. There's a lot of opportunity for partners to not just sell one product but to cross sell into the various brands," Petersen said. "We'll start to create a bit of ecosystem where partners can create a complete solution across the Open Text product range."
Companies the vendor has acquired over the years include Hummingbird and Ixos Software.
