Fuji Xerox Phaser Printing will overhaul its channel program next month, announcing a total restructure that will include branding programs and a tiered reseller arrangement.
The vendor has been business taking colour to the channel, hosting events around the country to launch its two new printers.
The Phaser 6200 colour laser printer and Phaser 8200 ColorStix solid ink printer are designed to bring the affordability of colour printing into the realms of monochrome.
Fuji Xerox Phaser Printing marketing manager Neale Gallagher said customers were increasingly looking at the total cost of ownership over a three-year period of printing, and the corporate market has begun to turn away from inkjet technology and monochrome printing in favour of colour lasers.
"The colour toner is not a lot more expensive [than monochrome], so the costs aren't a lot more," he said. "There really is no reason why a business should consider monochrome when they can get colour at the same price."
The 6200 is a single-pass printer designed for corporate users and will retail for $5495.
"For many businesses this is the third or fourth time around for colour printers, but that is only a small part of the market. There are hundreds and thousands of monochrome printers out there -- that's a lot of opportunity."
