ICT provider, Gen-i, has extended its relationship with ANZ National bank to undertake a telecommunications infrastructure upgrade.
The four-year contract includes services around the core datacentre as well as national, corporate and branch data and infrastructure services, IP telephony and ATM money machine services and extending other existing telecommunications services.
Gen-i Australasia general manager, Rhoda Holmes, said ANZ National was its largest client in NZ and second only to the Commonwealth Bank in Australia. Gen-I has been working with ANZ for seven years.
Holmes said the new contract, which can be extended for two further years at the bank's discretion, was not a competitive tender but the result of a proposal from Gen-i about how the bank might upgrade its network.
"When you've been a provider for a number of years familiarity can breed contempt - this has been every bit as valuable and tough as a competitive tender to convince ANZ National on the continued value of Gen-i's services," Holmes said.
Gen-i also maintains contracts with ASB, Westpac, Kiwi Bank and Bank of NZ as well as with a range of insurance companies. It recently announced it has signed deals worth more than $100 million.
