Hansen charges up $2.6m AGL contract

ew two-year contract won as services provider continues to build in Australia & the UK

ASX listed managed services provider, Hansen (ASX: HSN), has won a licensing and services contract with energy provider AGL. The contract value is for $2.6 million over two years and was won in a competitive tender.

Hansen company secretary, Grant Lister, said the contract came up as a result of a reorganisation following an acquisition by AGL. Hansen has been working with the client for several years.

"It's not our biggest win, but it's a nice continuation and ratification of the long relationship between our two companies," Lister said.

Under the contract, Hansen will provide AGL with a fully integrated facilities managed service to deliver Hansen's proprietary Utility Billing software solutions.

Lister said Hansen's plans for 2008 involve growing the business, both locally and in the UK, and building its capabilities in both telecommunications, as well as the energy sector.

"We're operating very well in terms of profitability," Lister said. "We paid out 5 cents to shareholders which we are very pleased with, on the back of a 40 cent share price."
