Melbourne-based distributor, Multimedia Technology (MMT), has parted company with Taiwanese small form factor (SFF) vendor, Shuttle.
MMT purchasing manager, Michael Muscat confirmed the split, but declined to provide further details on the decision. According to sources close to the company, the distributor pulled the plug on the deal and is now clearing remaining stock.
MMT signed an agreement with Shuttle about four years ago to distribute its XPC range. At the time the distributor claimed it was a significant deal. The distributor was charged with taking the barebones system into the mainstream, enthusiast and corporate PC markets.
In 2005, the distributor started building systems based on Shuttle SFF PCs to broaden its business model.
Shuttle is also locally distributed by Altech Computers.
