Brisbane-based vendor, Insight Informatics, has appointed Sydney integrator, Global Integration, as the exclusive channel partner for its local government solution.
Insight's CivicView solution is an integrated Windows-based system offers that provides management solutions for the broad spectrum of local government functions. Global Integration will be largely responsible for the sales and marketing of the solution, as well as its distribution.
Insight general manager, Santo Cavallaro, said Global Integration was chosen for the synergies between the two companies.
"They have the technical skills to be more than just a sales partner," he said.
Insight has previously partnered with Management Solutions in Canberra and Pacific Software from Brisbane.
Cavallaro said both partnerships had ended. Management Solutions had gone into liquidation, and Pacific Software was offering only a generic sales and marketing approach.
"We've failed to recognise in the past that this solution requires a high degree of technical understanding and a tailored approach to sales and marketing," Cavallaro said.
Insight had been working informally with Global Integration for about six months and was now bringing it up to speed on the solution, he said.
Global Integration managing director, Colin Richardson, said the initial push would be on the east coast, but plans were in place to expand westwards and to New Zealand.
He said the company had invested in two sales and account managers, and specialised developers were in training.
Richardson said Global Integration will invest in collaborating marketing initiatives with Insight, and had a telemarketing campaign set to launch next month.
Global Integration also sells the InterSystems CACHE database and InterSystems Ensemble rapid integration platform into the local government market.
