Web and e-mail filtering specialist SurfControl has announced plans to hand over all of its global sales to the channel by the end of next year, with the Australian market leading the way.
For the year ending June, indirect sales accounted for 36 per cent of its global sales, but in Australia, for the six months ending June, the channel represented 50 per cent of total revenue.
The Australian arm of the company hopes this figure will reach 70 per cent by June 2003 and 100 per cent by the end of the year.
Charles Heunemann, managing director of SurfControl in Australia, said its national operations had shown 70 per cent growth during the past financial year despite "horrendous" market conditions and added that the channel was critical to maintaining growth.
"We recognise the channel as the single most important driver in our growth strategy for Australia and New Zealand.
